Trip Preparations and Packing

I’m leaving San Francisco in 10 days, and right now I am excited and totally overwhelmed. I’m done working, so all I have to do all day is get ready for the trip, but right now that feels like more than a full time job. Rhonda (my bike) is getting a total overhaul – my friend Justin built her new wheels, and I’m going to repack the hubs, clean the chain and cassette, and replace my brake pads.
I’ve been getting in touch with amazing people across the country, and I feel like the trip is really coming together. It seems pretty amazing that two weeks from today I’ll be in New Jersey on my way out of town.
For the record, I am riding East to West, which i know is way more confusing than it needs to be. I have to be in New York next Friday for an interview and there are several events I want to go to in May that are on the East Coast, so it seemed like it made more sense to go East to West than West to East. That means that I’ll end up in San Francisco at the end of July and then fly back across the country for graduate school.
If anyone in San Francisco or the Bay Area wants books, costumes, fabric, or any of the various and sundry bits of decorations I’ve accumulated over the past few years, email me!
I’m still looking for people to stay with in Amherst, MA, Milwaukee, WI, Providence, RI, and Philadelphia, so if you live in one of those cities, or you know people who do, let me know. I have a pretty good sense of when I’ll be were, so I can send you the link if you’re interested.

Good for you, I will also be taking a little trip. I will be leaving sometime after the first weekend in May from New Jersey to Oregon.
