I Heart Riding Bikes

I just finished eating a plate full of rice with fried eggs and fish sauce and am reading the book I Heart Female Orgasm. Life doesn’t get much better than this. For the past 3 days, Nora and I have been riding 55-70 miles a day. It’s amazing how great food tastes and how my life has really been all about eating, riding and sleeping. Right now we’re staying with Jackie, Melissa and Rick, some really cool cats in Madison.
Yesterday, Nora and I rode out to A Woman’s Touch, a feminist sex toy shop/revolutionary space/women’s sexual health center/everything you’ve ever wanted center. Needless to say, it was mind-blowing. Integrating women’s health and sexuality isn’t all too common and knowing that the staff at A Woman’s Touch are educating health providers on how to talk to their patients about sex is out of this world.
Today we’re heading out to Viroqua to attend a ladies lawn party. Jackie has outfitted us all with beautiful and fabulous vintage dresses. The last thing I expected on this grungy bike trip was the opportunity to wear a flowing dress while playing croquet and sipping on a delicious drink. The crazy things that I have gotten to experience during my short time with Nora.
Today is my last day with Nora, I’ll be heading back to Deerfield to spend a day with my sister and then back home to run a backpacking program. Right now I’m listening to Sufjan Stevens singing about how he fell in love with a place. I don’t know if I’ve fallen in love with any particular place but I’ve definitely fallen in love with the adventures I’ve had during this bike tour.
